Patient Endurance: We struggle waiting on the Lord.

December 8, 2019 Speaker: Jordan Dayoub

Topic: ADVENT Passage: James 5:7–5:11

We struggle waiting on the Lord. Patient endurance is necessary if we’re going to live a  blessed life.

Advent prepares us for Christmas by focusing on the fact that like the the people of God back then, awaiting the birth of Christ (his first Advent) the people of God now also await the coming of Christ—His second Advent.

This is why above all—Advent is a season of waiting and preparation. And when you’re waiting—above all things—you need patience.

Living the Christian life above all else is a test of perseverance. Luke 21:19 says, By your patient endurance you will gain your souls.

And so as we wait this advent season for Christ to return and deliver us from our troubles—we’re like those who waited for centuries for the arrival of the birth of the Messiah. We can be assured that history  is marching toward a destiny where the people of God will have persevered to the end only to find God’s richest eternal blessings.
