The Gentile Predicament: The wrath of God is the bad news that makes the good news so good.
Passage: Romans 1:18–1:27
- The wrath of God revealed
God gave them up to impurity
God gave them up to dishonorable passions
Also, the Wrath of God is not synonymous with Hell. A person can be under the wrath of God until God saves and redeems them.
Eph 2:3-5 “We were by nature children of wrath, like the rest of mankind….until God made us alive together with Christ” (paraphrase).
It’s not hopeless—we should see the salvific potential of every person we encounter.
The person who now rejects the gospel may one day by God’s electing love, repent and believe.
